At the heart of A11ySpaces is our database. We need a Data Analyst who can translate “legalese” and complex building codes into structured data. You will be architecting the logic that tells a restaurant owner in Chicago exactly how wide their bathroom door needs to be based on local, state, and federal laws.
### **Core Responsibilities**
* **Code Codification:** Translate ADA Standards, IBC, and local regulations into boolean logic and structured datasets.
* **SOP Development:** Establish and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for data entry, code verification, and database maintenance to ensure long-term scalability and accuracy.
* **Database Scaling:** Lead the expansion of the database to include US Territories and international codes (Canada/Mexico).
* **Logic Mapping:** Develop the recommendation engine that filters building types against specific disability needs.
* **Quality Assurance:** Audit the database regularly to ensure all links to specific codes are up-to-date.
### **Required Skills & Qualifications**
* **Data Architecture:** Strong experience in structured data modeling and managing complex relational datasets.
* **Legal/Technical Literacy:** Ability to read technical building codes and extract specific parameters.
* **Attention to Detail:** Absolute precision is required; a typo in a measurement could result in a non-compliant build.
* **Systems Thinking:** Ability to design logical workflows and repeatable processes for high-volume data management.
* **Preferred Certifications (Nice to Have):
* **Data/Analysis:** Professional certifications in data analytics, business intelligence, or data science.
* **Project/Process:** PMP (Project Management Professional), CAPM, or Six Sigma certification.
* Evidence of continuing education in legal research, urban planning, or spatial data analysis.
Shared Values for All Roles
---------------------------
* **Inclusion Mindset:** A deep-seated belief that accessibility is a human right.
* **Problem Solvers:** The ability to find creative solutions for “impossible” compliance overlaps.
* **Collaborative:** Comfortable working closely with a small, agile husband-and-wife founding team and external consultants.
* **Outcome-Oriented Flexibility:** We operate as a **fully remote** team with **flexible schedules**. We don’t track hours worked; instead, we focus on high-quality outcomes, hitting project milestones, and meeting established timelines. We trust our team to manage their own time to deliver the best results.
