We are seeking an Accessibility Specialist to join our Design Systems team. In this role, you will be the advocate for accessibility across Omnissa's products, collaborating with designers, engineers, and stakeholders to identify, address, and implement accessibility best practices. Your work will ensure that our products not only meet compliance standards but also deliver exceptional experiences to all users.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits of Omnissa's digital products, ensuring alignment with WCAG 2.2 AA standards and other relevant guidelines, Section 508 ADA and AODA standards.
- Prepare Accessibility Conformance Report (ACRs).
- Document and communicate accessibility issues, providing clear guidance on resolutions to design and development teams.
- Partner with design, product, and engineering teams to ensure accessibility is integrated throughout the development lifecycle.
- Review and provide feedback on wireframes, prototypes, and code to identify accessibility gaps early.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for teams to foster a culture of accessibility awareness and capability.
- Advocate for inclusive design principles, staying up to date on accessibility standards, assistive technologies, and industry trends.
- Develop and maintain accessibility resources, such as checklists, documentation, and testing guidelines, to streamline implementation.
- Leverage and recommend tools for automated and manual accessibility testing.
- Collaborate with engineers to optimise accessible components in the design system, ensuring scalability and performance.
- Work with QA teams to validate accessibility during the testing phases of development.

Requirements:

- 2-6 years of experience in accessibility-focused roles such as Accessibility Specialist, UX Designer, or Front-End Developer with a strong focus on inclusive design.
- Deep knowledge of WCAG guidelines, ARIA practices, and assistive technologies like screen readers.
- Experience conducting manual and automated accessibility testing using tools such as Axe, Wave, or Lighthouse.
- A strong understanding of the WCAG 2.2 AA standards and other relevant guidelines, Section 508 ADA and AODA standards is necessary.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA to diagnose and resolve accessibility barriers.
- Strong proficiency in assistive technologies like JAWS, NVDA and Voiceover, along with automated tools like Axe, Wave, Lighthouse and CCA.
- Prepare VPATs and ACRs for the products post accessibility assessment.
- Well-experienced in defect logging and tracking processes, with hands-on experience in Jira.
- Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Figma) and accessibility plug-ins.
- Strong understanding of the relationship between accessibility and performance optimisation.
