Accessibility Assistant - temporary role

We are currently seeking a temporary Accessibility Assistant to join our Marketing team, to lead on accessibility and inclusion communications with guests, staff and participants with disabilities or additional access requirements to ensure they are supported effectively.
This role will support all teams on all matters relating to accessibility, driving continuous improvement and embedding inclusive practice across all race days, events and operational planning.
This role will be based in our offices at the racecourse in Ascot, Berkshire.
This is a full time, temporary role for approx. 4 months from April 2026.
What you’ll be doing
Guest Experience & Support
- Act as the primary point of contact for accessibility-related enquiries from guests, partners and stakeholders.
- Ensure appropriate support is in place for guests with physical, sensory, cognitive or hidden disabilities, including mobility access, sensory-friendly provisions and reasonable adjustments.
- Oversee accessible seating, viewing areas, transport, wayfinding, signage and toilet provision.
Event Planning & Support
- Work closely with Operations, Security, Hospitality, Ticketing and Event Delivery teams to assist with the embedding of accessibility into all race days and major events (e.g. Royal Ascot).
- Support the planning and delivery of Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) where required.
- Monitor accessibility provision during live events, responding to issues in real time.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain accurate records, risk assessments and accessibility documentation.
- Produce reports on accessibility performance, incidents and guest feedback for senior management.
Skills and experience you can bring
Essential
- Experience working in accessibility, inclusion, guest experience or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a guest-focused mindset.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced, live-event environment.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook and Excel.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends.
Desirable
- Strong knowledge of accessibility, inclusion and the Equality Act 2010.
- Experience within large venues, events, sport, leisure or hospitality environments.
- Qualification or training in accessibility, inclusive design or disability awareness.
- Lived experience of disability or strong advocacy experience.
- Knowledge of accessible transport, crowd management and emergency planning.
