We are seeking a creative and skilled Digital Content Developer to join Ranga Auaha Ako | Learning and Teaching Design, within the Education Office.
In this role, you will apply a strong pedagogical and learning design perspective to identify, curate, and create high-quality digital content that showcases and promotes innovative, evidence-based teaching practices across the University. You will ensure the effective communication of best practice and new ideas to our academic community via Ranga Auaha Ako’s learning and teaching website, newsletters, and digital channels.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing case studies, interviews, blogs, and scripts to highlight teaching excellence.
* Supporting staff professional learning by producing resources and guides to integrate contemporary learning design and educational technologies.
* Managing digital content strategy and governance, including web publishing using CMS tools (e.g., CampusPress).
* Collaborating with staff and stakeholders across the University to design engaging, pedagogically sound content.
* Applying accessibility, UX, and SEO principles to maximise reach and impact.
* Ensuring content complies with copyright, privacy, and institutional policies.
This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week, on a permanent contract. The salary range for this role is $83,300 – $102,900 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.

Ranga Auaha Ako | Learning and Teaching Design plays a central role in supporting academic staff to adopt innovative and effective teaching practices. The team provides scalable, multimodal learning design support, including course and programme development, assessment design, curriculum review, and professional learning opportunities. By promoting pedagogical innovation, digital capability, and high-quality resources, Ranga Auaha Ako ensures students at Waipapa Taumata Rau experience teaching and learning that is engaging, accessible, and future-focused.
**He kōrero mōu | About you**
Our ideal candidate will be a digital content professional with excellent writing skills and a passion for improving teaching and learning.
You will also bring:
* A bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Media, or a related field (postgraduate study preferred).
* 3–5 years of professional experience in content creation, with a portfolio of written and multimedia work.
* Strong writing and editing skills across multiple genres (blogs, podcasts, video scripts, case studies).
* Proficiency in using content management systems such as WordPress.
* Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG), copyright, and SEO best practices.
* Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including academics and media professionals.
* Familiarity with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Audacity for multimedia production.
Experience working in a tertiary or educational context would be an advantage.
