Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Digital Accessibility Specialist to join our team as a Project Lead in Systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in web accessibility design, with a specialization in Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and 2.2 AA, Section 508 compliance, and accessibility auditing. This role is critical in ensuring that our digital products are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities, and will involve collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in accessibility.

Responsibilities:

* Lead accessibility initiatives across web and native applications, ensuring compliance with WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 AA and Section 508 standards.

* Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits and assessments of digital content, identifying areas for improvement and providing actionable recommendations.

* Collaborate with design, development, and content teams to integrate accessibility best practices into the project lifecycle.

* Develop and deliver training sessions and resources to educate team members on accessibility principles and practices.

* Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and technologies in digital accessibility and advocate for their adoption within the organization.

* Monitor and report on the progress of accessibility initiatives, ensuring timely completion of projects and adherence to quality standards.

* Engage with users and stakeholders to gather feedback on accessibility issues and incorporate their insights into project planning.

Mandatory Skills:

* Strong expertise in web accessibility design and implementation.

* In-depth knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and 2.2 AA.

* Familiarity with Section 508 compliance requirements.

* Proficient in conducting accessibility audits and assessments.

* Experience with web and native app accessibility standards and practices.

* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

* Experience with accessibility testing tools and software.

* Knowledge of assistive technologies and their impact on user experience.

* Familiarity with user-centered design principles.

* Ability to create and maintain documentation related to accessibility processes and standards.

Years of Experience:

* Must have prior telecom experience.

* Must have worked as Accessibility Engineer for at least 8 years.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related discipline.

* Certifications in accessibility (e.g., CPACC, WAS) are a plus.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Passion for promoting inclusivity and accessibility in digital environments.
