ADA Digital Accessibility Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented ADA Digital Accessibility Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring our digital products and platforms comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other relevant accessibility standards. You will conduct accessibility audits, identify barriers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that create an inclusive user experience for all individuals.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough accessibility audits of websites, web applications, and digital content using various tools and methodologies.
Identify and document accessibility issues, including WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) violations.
Provide clear and actionable recommendations for remediation to development, design, and content teams.
Collaborate with developers and designers to implement accessibility best practices throughout the product lifecycle.
Test digital content and applications for compliance with accessibility standards.
Stay up-to-date with the latest accessibility guidelines, laws, and technologies.
Educate and advocate for accessibility within the organization.
Develop and maintain accessibility documentation and training materials.
Work with users with disabilities to gather feedback and conduct usability testing.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in digital accessibility, with a strong understanding of ADA and WCAG guidelines.
Familiarity with accessibility testing tools (e.g., WAVE, Axe, screen readers).
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript from an accessibility perspective.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with content management systems (CMS) and their accessibility implications is a plus.
Experience with assistive technologies is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
