Accessibility Engineer

We’re looking for an Accessibility Coach with strong front-end development expertise to join our team. While titled as an accessibility coach, this role is highly hands-on and development-focused, involving direct contributions to building and optimizing accessible digital experiences. The ideal candidate is a skilled React developer who can seamlessly blend accessibility best practices with modern UI development—and ideally, has experience applying AI or automation in accessibility testing and design.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, review, and enhance accessible front-end components using React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
Embed WCAG and ARIA compliance standards directly into the development lifecycle.
Collaborate with design, QA, and engineering teams to identify and resolve accessibility barriers across web and mobile platforms.
Conduct accessibility reviews, audits, and provide implementation guidance in code.
Build or improve automation and testing pipelines using accessibility testing tools such as axe-core, Lighthouse, or Playwright.
Partner with stakeholders to integrate inclusive design and accessibility into product strategy.
(Bonus) Apply AI or ML-based techniques to enhance accessibility detection, testing, or content adaptation.
Qualifications

5+ years of front-end development experience, with deep knowledge of React, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript.
Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1/2.2, ARIA, and semantic web design principles.
Proven ability to implement accessible UI patterns and mentor teams on inclusive coding practices.
Experience with accessibility testing tools and CI/CD integration.
(Preferred) Familiarity with AI-assisted accessibility tools, automation frameworks, or generative AI for design support.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The salary for this position ranges from $110k/year in our lowest geographic market up to $130k/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Other forms of compensation are offered in the form of medical, vision, and dental benefits.
