Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accessible Technology Coordinator to help ensure our online courses meet accessibility standards under Title II ADA and WCAG 2.1 AA. This entry-level role will focus on using provided tools to identify and remediate accessibility issues in course content. Training will be provided. Key Responsibilities: - Run accessibility checks in Canvas LMS using integrated tools (e.g., YuJa Panorama, Cidi Labs Design Plus Accessibility Checker). - Apply simple fixes to documents and course content (e.g., adding alt text, adjusting headings, checking color contrast). - Follow step-by-step remediation workflows provided by the team. - Assist with captioning and video accessibility tasks in Kaltura. - Maintain logs of completed tasks and report progress to the Director of Instructional Technology. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Educational Technology or a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Required Skills: - Strong computer skills and ability to learn new platforms quickly. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint). - Basic knowledge of Adobe Acrobat for PDF editing. - Attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes. Preferred Skills: - Familiarity with Canvas LMS (or other learning platforms). - Experience with video platforms (Kaltura or similar). - Understanding of accessibility principles (training provided).
