The Accessibility Coordinator will be responsible for providing coordination support to the Safety & Accessibility team. This role requires strong organizational/communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information. The coordinator will provide support to guide Rogers towards achieving or, exceeding accessibility regulatory compliance.



The successful candidate will have the ability to manage multiple deliverables in a complex, high volume environment. This individual must be a self-starter who will find ways to serve internal stakeholders efficiently to provide high value, while creating an inclusive workplace.
What you will be doing:

Coordinate the implementation and monitoring of initiatives related to accessibility strategies and compliance with Accessible Canada Act requirements.
Create or remediate communications (Microsoft Office documents) to be accessible. The ability to create/remediate PDF and HTML documents is an asset.
Research and analyze accessibility guidelines and best practices to create resources and provide advice to stakeholders.
Provide support for meetings such as creating agendas/minutes, presenting information, and guiding discussions.
Collect, analyze, and communicate sensitive and confidential information related to accessibility feedback process and triage to stakeholders for follow-up.
Efficiently provide quality service in a timely manner to internal customers for Accessibility inquiries, issues and following-up with action items.
Partner with leaders and business units to improve Accessibility practices, processes and programs with a focus on continuous improvement.
Partner with Safety to incorporate accessibility into strategic planning.

What you will have:

1-2 years of industry related experience; Experience in the telecommunications or media industry is an asset.
Strong technical skills to create and edit accessible documents under the Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or disability organizations.
Strong written, presentation and verbal communication skills.
Organizational, project management and time management skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapt to change, and work with tight deadlines with changing priorities.
Ability to maintain information in confidence and exercise good judgment.
Strong aptitude for developing relationships.
