Quality Engineer II (Accessibility Compliance)

The Studios Quality team at Xbox Game Studios is looking for a Quality Engineer who wants to make a big impact on the next generation of 1st Party game titles, with a specific focus on Accessibility. You’ll partner directly with game development teams, other quality engineers, and the XGS Accessibility Team to ensure that accessibility is considered through the entire development process of each and every title we release. This team is newly formed to centralize common work across all titles, so you’ll also be able to contribute to the initial efforts around establishing processes and setting up the team and XGS for future success.
Responsibilities
As a part of this team, you will be responsible for:
Accessibility expertise and guidance (e.g. being an expert on the Xbox Accessibility Guidelines)
Providing customized support for each project team to meet the unique needs of each game
Building relationships with multiple studios and teams
Validation, analysis, and reporting around the health of each title
Design foundational processes and workflows for this team
Identifying areas for improvement and developing solutions

You will be able to participate in all aspects of the development cycle, identifying defects and driving quality upstream to prevent defects in the future. You will have the opportunity to partner with senior engineers on the team to grow your engineering skills, learning how to more effectively validate quality in games and ways to apply your engineering skills for greater impact.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have:
BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent industry experience
Strong initiative, willingness to learn quickly to impact the project and team
Passion for the entertainment and gaming space, as well as accessibility
Excellent communication and cross-group collaboration skills
Ability to apply strong engineering skills to testing methodologies and quality assurance

Optionally, the candidate will have:
4-6+ years of hands-on software development/testing experience
Knowledge about accessibility and how it relates to games
Familiarity with Xbox and other gaming platforms
Comfortable with using telemetry and/or reporting through tools like PowerBI
Experience in game development
