As a product manager for accessibility, you will be working with the passionate team of accessibility SMEs, accessibility allies and partners to assure product teams have what they need to deliver delightful, accessible, customer experiences everyone can use. Job Description:

Responsibilities:

You will contribute to the accessibility team’s work to integrate accessibility practices throughout the product lifecycle:
Assist product teams in planning and conceptualizing accessible approaches to their products and features.
Work closely with others on the Accessibility team, and the Compliance, Policy, and Legal teams to align our accessibility guidelines and practices with company policies and legal regulations.
Work closely with the design systems team (PayPal UI) to assure component library and documentation are accessible.
Help monitor progress by product teams in delivering accessible products at release by monitoring the results (evaluation methods reports and assessing improvements to make the processes more effective.
Build strong relationships with engineers and designers throughout the company to grow and maintain a network of accessibility champions.
Research industry trends and best practices for solving accessibility challenges and tools for evaluating designs and code that product teams can employ and share that as part of documentation and ongoing training.
Stay on top of updates and new hardware and software assistive technologies, such as screen readers, magnification features, switch control devices and others, as well as mobile OS accessibility functionality to understand how customers interact with our products and share that knowledge internally.

Requirements:

1-2 years of product management experience.

Bachelor’s degree is a must; MBA or MS preferred.

Able to navigate large, cross-functional and matrixed organizations across multiple time zones and locations.

Sharp problem-solving skills and a constructive ability to illustration / document solutions to technical challenges.

Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills, and a good listener.

Highly collaborative, and facilitation skills a plus.

Self-starter and proactively drives toward goals and objectives.

Tech savvy and any programming knowledge a plus.

Good design sense, experience with design thinking and collaborating with UX designers.

Strong analytical skills and ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcome.

Solid understanding of and experience with assistive technologies.

Experience with accessibility checking tools and automation a plus

Knowledge of applicable accessibility standards such as Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) a plus.
