Job Description
Digital Accessibility & Compliance
Establish regular routines for expert audit reviews including: defining roadmap, coordination with supplier, scheduling read-out sessions, and maintaining a centralized repository of accessibility materials
Utilize automated scanning software to perform period reviews, identification of issues, and releases rescans
Manage issues list to ensure progress on critical gap resolution; partner with Compliance and Legal to prioritize with established prioritization criteria
Facilitate meetings and provide communication and awareness to key business and technical contacts
Collaborate with Compliance and Risk teams to prioritize ADA digital accessibility efforts
Establish dynamic, cross-functional working teams to remediate issues
Participate in formalized projects for high priority remediation efforts
Track remediation efforts for all formal web accessibility IRM issues
Stay current on all changes in guidelines and laws associated with accessibility including WCAG and Section 508; establish a mechanism to keep Enterprise current
Drive Enterprise Education & Awareness
Co-develop a program for enterprise level education and awareness for ADA digital accessibility and compliance
Engage stakeholders across SunTrust and vendors on a targeted basis to assist in building SunTrust digital accessibility expertise
Lead the execution of the plan, including tactically engaging on an as-needed basis
Ability to code for digital accessibility; train Development team a plus
Facilitate and organize accessibility training sessions
Maintain reports for legal and compliance related to ADA and accessibility
Update ADA / accessibility guidelines and policies annually
Digital Accessibility Process
Drive the development of a digital design methodology that is rooted in ADA accessibility
Integrate accessibility needs into requirements and design processes
Integrate accessibility needs into market research and acquisition processes
Integrate accessibility needs into development processes
Provide consultation to, or participate in, agency capital planning and/or business case development and IT governance to ensure WCAG / Section 508 requirements are considered across the IT and acquisition life cycles
Oversee and champion the integration of WCAG / Section 508 accessibility needs into department/agency budget, strategic, and IT capital plans
Ensure WCAG / Section 508 accessibility considerations are incorporated into the planning, operation, and management of any ICT that is developed, used, or maintained by the agency
Ensure that accessibility is a key tenet of the user experience design practice
Maintain project intake including actively managing a workflow for all digital accessibility work and projects
Maintain record-keeping of all digital accessibility efforts
Support validation of accessible IT systems performance prior to deployment
Help to build and update ADA Accessibility Digital and ADA Accessibility Guidelines on the Enterprise Experience Design Portal (the SunTrust Enterprise access point for all employees to refer to EXD and digital accessibility requirements
Skills
An accessibility certification is a plus
Adept working knowledge of up to date WCAG digital accessibility guidelines and ability to apply in strategic fashion
Knowledge of HTML5, CSS,
Experience with accessibility compliance web tools and ability to assess and strategically choose vendors / optimize vendor spend
Knowledge of assistive technologies and devices
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Interactive, or other related field and 5+ years of experience with interaction design and Front-end UI, with the bulk of the experience in responsive mobile and web development.
