We make health happen

The role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to help shape the future of digital health at Bupa.

You’ll work within a cross-functional squad and a small team of designers, driving both how the product works and how we discover what to build.

With a portfolio that demonstrates strategic thinking, interaction design depth, and measurable impact, you’ll be a strategic partner to product and engineering stakeholders, guiding product discovery, defining experience strategy, and ensuring design excellence—with the support of your Design Principal.

How you’ll help us make health happen

Support Discovery & Strategy: Frame problems, test ideas, and guide your squad toward effective, validated solutions.
Design Holistic Experiences: Own the end-to-end user journey, ensuring the product delivers real value and feels intuitive to use.
Conduct & Guide Research: plan and conduct evaluative user research and ensure insights are embedded into design decisions.
Run Workshops & Design Sprints: Facilitate collaborative sessions to align stakeholders and accelerate discovery.
Balance Business and User Needs: Create solutions that are desirable, feasible, and commercially viable working closely with stakeholders to understand constraints.
Elevate Design Quality: Contribute to setting the standard for design craft and thinking across your squad and the wider design community.
Promote Design Systems: Contribute to and advocate for Bupa’s design system (Anatomy) to ensure consistency and scalability.
Ensure Accessibility: Design experiences that meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards and are inclusive of all users.
Foster a Discovery Culture: Encourage rapid experimentation, user engagement, and continuous learning.

You

Significant experience of managing products in a large, regulated organisation.
Able to inspire and deliver innovative solutions through cross-functional teams
Multidisciplinary: You bring depth in product design and breadth across at least three of the following: service design, user research, content design, design systems, and design strategy.
Discovery-Led: You believe in testing ideas early and often, and you know how to guide teams through ambiguity.
Interaction-Driven: You design how the product works—not just how it looks—and understand the nuances of user behaviour.
Inclusive by Design: You champion accessibility and inclusive design practices from the start.
Proficiency in Figma and experience with design systems.
Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
Familiarity with WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards.
Strongly preferred: experience with AI tools such as Figma Make and Lovable.
Strong understanding of product discovery, experimentation, and agile product development.
