ADA WebGuard, LLC. is looking for a senior architect Software Engineering that is a knowledgeable and resourceful person capable of leading the development of an automated website accessibility analysis application.

If you are a highly motivated, customer-obsessed and entrepreneurial Software Development Engineer to assist company-wide efforts to make websites and applications accessible to everyone. As a member of the ADA WebGuard team, you will deliver solutions to identify, analyze and prevent accessibility issues on both web and native applications across multiple platforms. You will work with cross-functional development teams to create innovative accessible experiences.

Our optimal candidate will not only be able to demonstrate their knowledge and sensitivity to the access needs of people with disabilities but also their experience and a strong command of web technologies (HTML5/ARIA/CSS/JS) and their interactions with assistive technology and standards.

The mission of ADA WebGuard is to generate awareness of the importance of creating and maintaining (ADA) Compliant Websites to enable those who have visual and other disabilities the ability to navigate all websites with freedom and confidence.

Basic Qualifications

5+ years design/implementation/consulting experience with distributed applications;
3+ years’ experience in software development, at least cover 2+ aspects in customer experiences, business applications, software infrastructure, data insight services, and intelligent algorithms;
Strong knowledge of software development tools, DevOps process, and methodologies;
Experienced user in using open-source software to build digital native or enterprise applications, especially in Hadoop, Kafka, ELK, MySQL, Linux, Puppet/Chef/Jenkins or TensorFlow/MXNet/Pytorch/XGBoost;
Computer Science or related background highly desired;
Experience in developing cloud applications or large scale distributed applications;
Experience developing applications in Python, Node.js, Java, C++, Go or other cloud services;
Ability to refine and define our tech stack, utilizing open-source tools, generalizing product-specific code and/or building novel solutions to needs we encounter

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of accessibility standards: WCAG 2.1 and ADA Section 508. Knowledge of International laws is a plus;
Certified Professional in Web Accessibility (CPWA) or ability to become certified within the first 90 days
Experience with Assistive Technology and Accessibility APIs
Ability to discern accessibility issues from design and code;
Professional experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS;
Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries;
Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud;
Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences;
Strong written communication skills;
High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations;
Experience with leading a team of developers;
Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly;
Hands-on experience in full-stack software development, or sounds experience in implementing algorithms, or dirty-hands in establish big data/analytic software infrastructure;
Experience in leading product design or software project management;
Master or above degree in computer science, statics or mathematics;

What You’ll Do

Design and build advanced automated build, test and release infrastructure
Drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability
Contribute features and fixes back to open source software, or create and promote our own open-source tools
Communicate and collaborate within and across teams to drive company-wide, large-scale projects
Mentor, educate and support those around you.

What You’ll Need

You have deep knowledge in insert technology and are an expert in debugging and profiling services built using it;
You are knowledgeable in modern web/Node.js dependency management and build tools (NPM/Yarn, Babel, Browserify/Webpack/Rollup, etc.);
You have experience utilizing multiple strategies for testing web applications (e.g. cross-browser, integration, visual regression, etc.);
You have experience with containerized CI/CD pipelines, and creating reproducible builds from development to production;
You are adept at communicating and collaborating effectively with others, promoting your ideas as well as being humble when you may be wrong;
You are excited to learn from and teach others and are passionate about creating tools, products and providing support for your fellow engineers;

Requirements

Broad knowledge of accessibility barriers as well as the tools and techniques for overcoming them;
Knowledge of accessibility standards: WCAG 2.1 and ADA Section 508. Knowledge of International laws is a plus;
Experience with Assistive Technology and Accessibility APIs
Ability to discern accessibility issues from design and code;
Knowledge of accepted accessibility patterns and best practices;
Experience in developing accessible digital products and web content;
Experience with agile methodologies;
Ability to analyze and employ problem-solving skills to recommend the best solution;
Ability to analyze code for accessibility issues;
Ability to act in both an accessibility consultant and web engineering role;
Ability to communicate to a wide range of project stakeholders;
Ability to work in a team environment;
Knowledge of technologies including but not limited to:
Advanced knowledge of core web technologies: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Familiarity with modern web application development practices and popular JavaScript frameworks (ReactJS, VueJS, and Angular)
Familiarity with Web accessibility standards (WCAG, WAI-ARIA)
Deep knowledge of cross-platform and browser compatibility issues
Familiarity with SVG, EPUB, MathML, and/or similar technologies.
Familiarity of next-version web technologies: HTML5 , CSS4, and ES6
Experience architecting or deploying Cloud/Virtualization solutions in enterprise customers. AWS specific experience a bonus.
