Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the Business Development Lead will be responsible for supporting the growth and development of the AFB Talent Lab’s outreach for teaching digital inclusion skills and its impact by developing a steady and sustainable pipeline of partnerships, sponsors, and clients, and executing a defined marketing plan and strategy that includes identifying, maturing, tracking, and closing opportunities.
Job Duties
1. Develop AFB Talent Lab partnership and sponsorship opportunities, producing and executing a Program Sustainability model in close collaboration with the Corporate Partnership Lead and the AFB Resource Development team.
2. Track, manage, and engage opportunities, from inbound prospects to qualified leads, and execute existing account relationship management and development activities using Salesforce and other sales, marketing, and account management tools.
3. Develop, cultivate, and manage strategic relationships of external partners, sponsors, and stakeholders in close collaboration with the Corporate Partnership Lead to drive new business, grow relationships, and support the development of the AFB Talent Lab project work pipeline.
4. Guide and support execution of inbound marketing funnel strategy and outbound paid advertising initiatives specifically designed to increase consulting clientele and revenue.
5. Maintain and grow existing partner relationships to secure agreement renewals, identify new business and strategic partnership needs, and mature gross revenue and effectiveness of existing accounts and partnerships with support from the Corporate Partnership Lead.
6. Grow annual program revenue through business development and sales activities, including responding to inbound emails and phone calls, meeting with existing and prospective accounts and partners, and identifying new sales opportunities and business strategies.
7. Consistently meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual budgeted revenue and other deliverable goals based on forecasted quarterly and annual sales targets.
8. Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of work experience in business development and marketing, or other related areas. Experience with disability-inclusion solutions, accessibility, or assistive-technology solutions preferred. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. Must be well-organized and able to prioritize multiple projects. Competency with google Workspace and productivity and communications tools such as Slack, Trello and Salesforce is required. Must be a self-starter and able to self-manage work and goal attainment with support from the CTO.
