Full Job Description
The Manager of Web Development & Accessibility position exists to lead, plan, and develop marketing and advertising strategies on Sinclair’s public-facing marketing websites, complete assessments and on-going improvements on quality assurance and ensure compliance of Sinclair’s web content with the Sinclair brand standards, web policies, web accessibility, and applicable accreditations and regulations.
This person will facilitate maintaining Sinclair’s high quality of standard for the web experience, marketing optimization, regulation compliance, and its impact on College missions. This position is responsible for leading and developing the direction and content of Sinclair’s marketing-focused websites consistent with the college’s strategy and different audience needs. The person in this role will provide leadership and direction for supporting the College brand in digital, print, video, social media and other marketing initiatives through web development marketing integrations.
This person has expert knowledge in leading website development from conception to completion, supervising web development team members and guiding internal constituents in web development.

Principal Accountabilities

Oversee www.sinclair.edu and other college marketing-focused websites design and content development for campaigns and project requests; ensuring quality, accessibility, accreditation and regulation compliance, and brand standards
Design website development strategies to maximize enrollment generation and meet community outreach and audience needs based on data driven decisions
Oversee (delegate) www.sinclair.edu web governance and content editor requests, and training appropriate personnel to use system. Delegate web design and content projects for www.sinclair.edu and other college marketing-focused websites and the content management of the databases that support them
Lead the research/analyzing/reporting outcomes of web development efforts including audits, research, web testing, and reporting on quality of user experience, optimization efforts, compliance, and ultimately the marketing website traffic through the enrollment funnel as needed by Marketing and Admission offices; Coordinate, review and improve online content quality, working with related departments and stakeholders
Serve as point of contact for on-campus and external constituents involved in creating and/or implementing web content including Sinclair IT, digital development vendors, and other digital Marketing vendors
Recommend/maintain software and production tools used by the developer team and for improving website functionality
Monitor and maintain website software/subscription expenditures on the department purchasing card as approved by the budget manager, the Director of Admissions & Marketing
Maintain current knowledge of web development and user experience trends, applicable compliance laws and regulations, accreditation needs, and certification of knowledge. Research technology tools and coding used and stay current on available/usable tools and coding languages


Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, or related concentration required
Minimum of 5 years direct experience with website design/development required
Knowledge of web content management systems and experience supervising web content development and website content optimization
Required: Ability to write and edit HTML5, CSS3. Experience with web tracking/analytic tools (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, Google Data Studio), user experience optimization, and SEO concepts and application
Preferred: Some experience with WCAG 2.1, WAI-ARIA, Bootstrap, Javascript, and social/rich media integration
A strong understanding of design aesthetics, including the ability to originate concepts for conveying ideas through powerful language, design and imagery required; using digital mediums and web applications to their full potential while still understanding their limits of functionality required for maximum usability
Creative design skills using appropriate design tools and industry software, including UI and UX design, mobile/responsive and web application design required
Knowledge of the latest trends in web development, including digital marketing, and overall marketing/advertising, especially in the higher education segment required
Ability to manage multiple projects within budget and time constraints and work effectively with internal and external constituents required
Ability to lead teams effectively and positively. Develop and report on web development strategy and website traffic/interactions required
Willingness to engage in learning web accessibility, regulations pertaining to web and marketing outputs and attend regular training to keep Sinclair’s marketing initiatives in compliance, as well as to serve as an accessibility resource for the Marketing Department and College as a whole required
