As a Technical Program Manager for Instagram Accessibility, you will lead efforts to extend Instagram’s value to people with disabilities. You will set up and execute programs aimed at making our products more inclusive by empowering product teams to build, test and launch features that are accessible. You will work closely with product leads, QA, operations, design/research, engineering and many other cross-functional partners to help build support for the accessibility program and provide guidance and domain expertise to various teams. You will also work closely with the Instagram Design Systems as well as various frameworks engineering teams (React, Native Templates) to improve systems-level support for Accessibility and drive engineering investments to enable step-change improvements in our ability to build and scale accessible products.

Work with product and engineering to define your team's roadmap and execution strategy
Develop and manage cross-functional programs, facilitating relationships across Instagram and Facebook to identify risks, manage dependencies and optimize resources
Articulate the technology, requirements, goals and milestones of your team
Build subject matter expertise in your area and stay up-to-date on assistive technology, native platform accessibility and other technological developments
Drive internal process improvements across teams, remove roadblocks, and deliver on high-impact projects with a focus on inclusion, efficiency, performance, and quality
Develop robust engineering accountability measurements, maintaining high quality engineering work
Assess business impact, prioritize initiatives and drive accountability in a fast-paced environment through project planning and strong interpersonal skills

B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
7+ years of software engineering, systems engineering or technical product/program management experience
3+ years of experience working on Accessibility programs or products
Knowledge of disabled-user needs, gathering requirements, and defining scope
Knowledge of accessibility design and engineering best practices including WCAG guidelines
Proven experience creating and deploying tech programs or products from inception to delivery
Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams and time-zones, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership
Communication skills and experience working with senior leadership and technical management teams to develop systems, solutions, and products
Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems

5+ years of experience working on Accessibility programs or products
Technical knowledge of ARIA and the Accessibility APIs and Assistive Technologies on iOS and Android
Experience participating in Accessibility communities and industry working groups
