ABOUT THE POSITION
The Marin County Human Resources Department and the Department of Information Services and Technology are announcing a recruitment for the position of 508 Accessibility & Compliance Manager.
There is one (1) vacancy in the Department of Information Services and Technology. The 508 Compliance Manager provides professional leadership and technical expertise for the County's 508 Compliance initiatives. The incumbent in this newly created position will manage the day-to-day activities of the program to include establishing compliance policies and procedures, setting program goals, measuring program effectiveness and monitoring issues and developments at the Federal, State and local level. Additionally, they will perform compliance activities as they relate to the development, revision, publication and maintenance of accessible web, digital and mobile content and will provide institutional education and training to ensure widespread adoption and compliance.
ABOUT YOU
The Highly Qualified Candidate: The highly qualified candidate has experience with project planning and implementation and demonstrated experience with accessible website design and development in order to quickly identify areas of non-compliance in documents/forms and web content. The successful candidate has knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements regarding information systems, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines ("WCAG") and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and possesses knowledge of other relevant laws, regulations and guidelines related to making ICT accessible. Additionally, the successful candidate will be able to build and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders across County departments and make recommendations on how to incorporate compliance policies and procedures into departmental activities.
Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of education and experience that would provide the knowledge and skills listed. Typically, equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in business or public administration, public policy, computer science or a field related to the work and four years of experience in the area of assignment performing professional-level administrative, budgetary, operational or organizational analysis. Experience with electronic and ICT accessibility is required for the Section 508 Assignment.
ABOUT THE PROCESS
Testing and Eligible List: Depending on the number of qualified applications received, testing may consist of a highly qualified review, an application screening and/or rating, written exam, online assessment, oral interview, practical performance, or any combination of these exams to determine which candidates' names are placed on the eligible list.

Salary Range: $110000 - $133000
