Digital Accessibility Project Manager Description:

The Project Manager’s key responsibilities are to coordinate all resources and project schedules, manage and assist the technical team with project deliverables, and nurture key client relationships in tandem with sales. Detailed, organized scheduling of client projects and internal initiatives ensures work is completed on time and exceeds expectations. Effective execution is dependent on the Project Manager setting clear deadlines, overseeing all tasks and assignments, and monitoring progress regularly so that potential challenges are identified and resolved before affecting key milestones. To manage Digital Accessibility projects successfully, the Project Manager must have the ability to adapt to schedule changes, review resource requirements on a daily basis, and make adjustments accordingly. A Project Manager should be able to report status and answer progress questions at any given time.

The Digital Accessibility Project Manager is a hub for all departments. Requests will be made by management, sales, and IT that will need to be scheduled according to resource availability and priority, putting client milestones first and foremost. Coordination of status reports and final deliverables will be provided to each department.

A person that is creative, flexible, organized, detail oriented, and enjoys working with a collaborative and supportive team is perfect for this role. Experience making strategic judgement calls in order to plan and accomplish goals, fluency performing a variety of tasks at one time, and having acted as a respected leader and mentor to others will be a benefit for the responsibilities of this role.


Coordinate internal resources, vendors, third parties, and partners for the flawless execution of projects
Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
Assist sales in the definition of project scope and objectives by involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
Ensure resource availability and allocation
Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress, to be shared with clients and internal teams
Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
Report and escalate to management as needed to resolve potential concerns before they become large issues
Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
Perform risk management to minimize project risks
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
Meet with clients to recap specific requirements of each project identified by sales and within customer contracts
Assign itemized project tasks
Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
Use and continually develop leadership skills
Attend conferences and training as required and desired to maintain proficiency
Perform other related duties as assigned
Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs


Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
Must be interested in making a difference in the lives of millions around the world by providing access to information through digital products.
Must be willing to learn daily, willing to fail often (and own it!), willing to ask questions, and willing to strive for improvement continuously. Perfect people need not apply.
Proven working experience in project management

Most Competitive Candidates:

Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area
Experience in using G Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive…)
Experience in developing technical documentation
Experience coding with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Experience in Accessibility testing and reporting
Experience with project management software
Familiarity with assistive and automated technologies (WAVE from WebAIM, JAWS, NVDA, ZoomText, Dragon Naturally Speaking, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Accessibility Checker)
Familiarity with Section 508 and Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) guidelines and specifications–W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0 A and AA), Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA), User Agent Accessibility Guidelines (UAAG), and Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines (ATAG)
Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 AA
