Accessibility Test Automation Engineer

SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Accessibility Test Automation Engineer for a hybrid opportunity, 3 days a week on-site in Columbia, SC. The Candidate will support the design, execution, and continuous improvement of automated accessibility testing solutions. This role focuses on ensuring web applications meet Section 508 and WCAG standards through a combination of automation development, compliance audits, and cross-team collaboration.
 
Required Qualifications of the Accessibility Test Automation Engineer:
Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; OR four (4) years of related work experience; OR two (2) years of related experience plus an Associate’s degree in a related field
Minimum of six (6) years of experience in application development, systems testing, or a closely related technical role
At least two (2) years of experience developing automated tests specifically for Section 508 accessibility compliance
Strong knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and experience training others on accessibility standards, development, and testing practices
Responsibilities of the Accessibility Test Automation Engineer:
Conduct Section 508 and WCAG accessibility audits for internally developed web applications
Develop, maintain, and enhance automated accessibility test scripts and frameworks
Collaborate with automation and development teams to improve testing tools and automation capabilities
Identify accessibility scenarios that cannot be automated and partner with manual testing teams to ensure full coverage
Support defect identification, validation, and retesting of accessibility compliance fixes
Work Location: Hybrid on-site in Columbia, SC 3 days a week
