Senior Product Manager

Curriculum Associates

North Billerica/CA,UNITED STATES

At Curriculum Associates (CA), we believe a diverse team leads to diversity in thinking, making our products better for teachers and students. If you read this job description, feel energized by what you see here, and believe you could bring passion and commitment to the role, but you aren’t sure you meet every qualification, please apply! Above all, we are looking for the right person!

We are seeking a collaborative Senior Product Manager who will be a key leader on the digital instruction team in our fast-growing environment dedicated to improving student outcomes. The Senior Product Manager will provide direction and drive decisions across multiple projects, working with cross-functional teams. Our focus is on improving student outcomes through innovative products that emphasize intelligent use of data, accessibility, and effective teaching practices.

Great products are the result of a team effort. That is why Product Managers act as cross-functional leaders, bringing the organization together to meet business goals. A good product leader helps their team understand why they need to work collaboratively to make the product—and, ultimately, the customer experience—better. This means being a great storyteller – inspiring others to get behind the vision for the product and seeing firsthand why we do the work we do. If you love thinking outside of the box and collaborating with educators, curriculum developers, designers and engineers to create engaging learning experiences for diverse student populations, then the i-Ready team will be a perfect fit!

The impact you’ll have:

Product Vision:
Collaborate with other senior product leaders to develop the product roadmap. Consider company goals and team constraints during this process.
Clearly articulate the story behind the problems the product aims to solve and the reasons behind those choices.

Product Definition:
Work closely with product leadership to define and document required scope.
Communicate the scope effectively to the project team and stakeholders.
Prioritize the most impactful features and plan for iterative releases of content.

Team Management and Collaboration:
Lead cross-functional teams in defining an approach that meets quality criteria for effective instruction, accessibility (WCAG), and usability across all user groups.
Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) goals while balancing project schedules, resource capacity, and budget constraints.
Foster healthy team dynamics and mentor less experienced team members.
Act as a key decision-maker across various domains, demonstrating leadership in daily interactions with product, content, design, and engineering teams.

Process Improvement:
Identify and implement project-specific process improvements.
Drive program-level process improvements with increasing ownership.

Innovation:
Solve diverse and complex problems creatively, exercising judgment in selecting effective methods.

Budget Development:
See the big picture while also paying attention to details.
Identify risks related to quality, schedule, and budget at both levels.
Partner with the Project Management to ensure a realistic schedule and hold the team accountable for meeting dates.

Market Knowledge:
Stay informed about market trends, key issues, competitors, and partner offerings.
Build a deep understanding within the team of overall instruction, pain points, and opportunities in the ed-tech market.

Field Support and Communication:
Develop materials to support complex field/customer questions and requests, working closely with Product Strategy.
Proactively identify potential disruptions from new releases and inform communication and discussions with support teams.

What we’re looking for:
Previous role as a Product Manager or Product Owner on an Agile team.
Familiarity with the education space, through teaching, ed tech, or related fields.
Experience building WCAG compliant products with an eye towards usability.
A self-starter who thrives on initiative and adapts well to rapid changes.
A team player with excellent collaboration skills, comfortable presenting to both internal and external teams.
Ability to lead large teams effectively.
Proficient in cross-functional collaboration with editorial, design, project management, and engineering teams.
Proven track record of developing product ideas and making informed decisions based on input from various sources.
Strong technology and analytical skills.
