Digital Accessibility Coordinator

GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Coordinator will provide general oversight, technical leadership, expert guidance, coordination and support to Delta County’s website, digital accessibility compliance, and digital records management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide general oversight, guidance, updates, training, and support for Delta County’s website.
Provide accessibility reviews of website and digital resources, creates reports on identified issues along with recommendations for solutions to accessibility barriers based on applicable standards and mobile phone platform accessibility guidelines.
Participate in the design, evaluation and validation of digital products utilized and maintained within the County’s digital structure.
Establish guidelines, best practices and standards related to designing and maintaining accessible websites, IT software systems and online materials.
Perform accessibility evaluations for websites and applications under consideration for purchase and deployment.
Complete State of Colorado C-MIST (Communications, Maintaining Health and Independence, Support Services/Safety and Transportation) resource training for disasters and preparedness and planning outreach to citizens and support of emergency management needs.
Utilize and coordinate with the State of Colorado Office of Information Technology (OIT) to meet technology accessibility requirements including, but not limited to Compliance with Colorado HB21-1110 Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act (CADA).
Create, maintain, train employees and review compliance with Delta County’s Digital Accessibility Plan.
Coordinate and be a resource for County wide.
Research, evaluate, and implement digital records management retention and storage technology projects involving the development, modification, and upgrade of the County’s information infrastructure, computer systems, and/or related equipment with the IT Director. Trains and coach County employees in storage program usage.
Plan, schedule, and prioritize records activities and projects to ensure accomplishment of goals and objectives.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information or graphic design, human-computer interaction, technology, technology accessibility or related field is desired.
Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of demonstrable experience of essential functions is required.
Experience:
Four years of web design and production experience is required.
Three years of web accessibility analysis, design, and development experience is strongly desired at least one year of experience and understanding of all applicable laws and how to meet them is required.
Two year of experience with digital storage platforms and records retention is desired, an understanding of records retention and dispersal is required.
Combination of education and experience could waive specific requirement.

Employees contribute 4% of their salary to a 401(a) retirement account fully matched with 4% from the County along with an optional 457 tax advantaged deferred-compensation retirement plan. Paid time off is accrued at 14 hours per month with an additional 11 paid holidays in a calendar year. We have a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that includes counseling along with some legal and financial support counseling. Delta County has modified work schedules for positions and employees that qualify. As an employee, additional employee discounts and fringe benefits are available.

Salary Range: $46946 - $56147
