Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience managing multiple projects, stakeholders, and timelines simultaneously.
2 years of experience in software development for mobile or web platforms.


Preferred qualifications:

Experience implementing accessibility guidelines or accessibility testing.
Willingness to learn new technologies and the ability to provide change management support to partner engineering teams.
Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, including experience managing cross-functional partnerships.
Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

The Central Accessibility Team is a unique organization with a passion for the domain with an inclusive culture. In this role, you will work primarily with broadly adopted accessibility standards and guidelines. You’ll work with a wide variety of product teams and collaborate with people from different job functions from all over the company. We strive to create standards that make it easier for teams to improve accessibility across their products and implement policies to drive our commitment to people with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Manage working groups and facilitate research and decision-making on accessibility standards and policy changes.
Follow and participate in external standards groups such as WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines).
Evaluate content changes to internal accessibility standards, including partnering with product teams to maintain, evolve, and expand guidance for emerging technologies.
Create and deliver training content, manage and staff consultation channels.
Evaluate and implement improvements on formatting and distribution of accessibility standards and policies.
