The Digital, Operations and Technology (DOT) team is responsible for the world-leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of CommBank and Bankwest – from product platforms for our customer, to essential tools within our business. We also use technology to drive efficient and timely processing.​

DOT is made up of a number of domains. Within each of our domains, we focus on delivering one or more of the Bank’s strategic priorities, often supporting a specific Business Unit (e.g. Retail Banking, Business Banking, Institutional Banking). We are always looking for ways to optimise our existing propositions, bringing the power of digital banking to every customer.​

Within DOT, the Publishing & DJOM Chapter is responsible for establishing a centralised content publishing, production and UX writing team that supports each tribe in DOT and partners with Journey Optimisation, Marketing & DDS.

Do work that matters:

The Digital Accessibility Manager is responsible for managing document accessibility standards and processes for documents used across our key digital assets - CommBank.com.au, NetBank and the CommBank app.

Through your detailed working knowledge of building and testing accessible documents (using Adobe Acrobat and MS Suite) you will guide and mentor internal stakeholder groups and external agencies in how to produce PDFs to meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.

You will be a demonstrated champion of document accessibility with responsibility for the development and rollout of a training program for our stakeholders to empower them to create accessible documents in PDF and MS Suite formats. You will be comfortable to take on the complete hands-on testing and remediation of documents as required.

On any given day, you will:

Provide training to stakeholders and agencies on document accessibility, including how to make documents accessible in MS Suite and how to fix document accessibility in the source document as well as in Adobe Acrobat DC
Create accessible document templates
Test/check document templates developed by stakeholders and agencies
Spot check/test PDFs prior to publication
Remediate inaccessible PDFs and work with stakeholders to achieve this
Develop systems and processes to embed document accessibility into day-to-day workflows
Adhere to the Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct sets the standards of behavior, actions and decisions we expect from our people.

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

Previous document accessibility experience and expertise in implementing WCAG 2.1 AA standards
Demonstrated knowledge of how to test and remediate complex PDF documents for accessibility
Ability to uphold the highest accessibility standards with internal stakeholders (sales, product & marketing) and external agencies
Strong stakeholder management and exceptional oral and written communication skills
Experience working in an agile workplace with tight deadlines
Positive attitude and engaging personality, with the ability to build relationships and influence others
