Straive is a world-leading content solutions provider for the educational publishing and e-learning industries. We are seeking an Accessibility QA Expert to work 100% remotely for our growing team of accessibility professionals focused on higher-education content. The Accessibility QA Expert is a remote developer role within our QA team. QA Experts provide technical guidance and support to the Accessibility QA Analysts who design and coordinate accessibility audits and the QA testers who execute them. Accessibility QA Experts assist with automated and manual testing, suggest code-level solutions for identified bugs, and advise Digital Production teams during remediation.

Assist the Accessibility QA Analyst in developing auditing plans based on WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, as well as product and courseware requirements.
Conduct manual and automated testing of digital products, logging identified issues via bug-tracking software.
Review, categorize, and report bugs identified during an audit to help prioritize fixes and plan remediation efforts.
Recommend code-level solutions for issues identified during an accessibility audit.
Provide technical guidance and support to the QA and Digital Production teams during remediation and validation.


Bachelor’s degree or appropriate combination of education and professional experience.
Experience using bug-tracking software such as JIRA, Mantis, and Bugzilla
Expertise in MathML and accessible math
Ability to explain why digital accessibility means “good design”
Expertise in WCAG 2.0, WCAG 2.1, and WAI-ARIA
Experience using assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, Talkback, and Chrome Vox
Experience using automated testing tools such as WAVE, AXE, Ace, and the Colour Contrast Analyser
Experience with web technologies such as MathML, JavaScript, HTML5/XHTML, Accessible Rich Internet Applications (WAI-ARIA), and EPUB
Experience creating, auditing, and/or remediating complex elements common in higher-ed STEM content and interactive media
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, fluid work environment

This is a full time salary position with benefits. It is 100% remote. Reliable internet access is required and will be reimbursed.
