About the Team:

The Consumer Technology eXperience (CTX) Compliance Team oversees the following compliance areas for the broader CTX organization. CTX-Compliance designs, leads, and implements a digital data privacy and accessibility program to meet corporate and regulatory needs. It serves as the interface to the Chief Compliance Office, Legal, Regulatory and Audit partners.

About the Job:

In the Principal System Engineering position, you are responsible for collaborating with product teams to design, develop, implement, and test technical solutions to ensure all digital products and services meet accessibility compliance requirements for both web and CTX-owned applications.

This job will be located in Dallas, TX, Atlanta, GA or Bothell, WA

Responsibilities and Day-to-Day View:

In the Principal System Engineering position, you will translate compliance regulations into technical solutions. Responsible for supporting and improving the processes and tools for accessibility requirements. Provides consulting to clarify needs to support delivery of application functionality and capable of testing accessibility for all types of disabilities, including proficient use of assistive technology.

You will also support client organizations by consulting on the design, development, testing, and monitoring of product performance to ensure conformance with accessibility requirements. Performs risk assessments and maintenance of documentation related to regulatory compliance and recommends appropriate technical changes. Capable of creating accessibility processes and documentation that can be used by a wide variety of product teams from best practices and guidelines to detailed functional and technical requirements. Deep technical knowledge and subject matter expertise on AT&T technologies and tools. Able to utilize developer-level knowledge of systems and applications to support automation of processes. Proficient on FCC, ADA and other government regulations pertaining to disability access.

Required Qualifications

8-10 years System Engineering

Desired Qualifications:

Project management, general compliance and/or privacy experience

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math; Developer nanodegree; or equivalent experience

Experience developing, designing or maintaining desktop, mobile and responsive web applications

Experience with accessibility standards and guidelines (WCAG, WAI-AIRA).

Proficient with multiple accessibility and assistive technology testing tools such as JAWS, NVDA, AMP, Wave, ZoomText

Proficient in mentoring and/or coaching multiple product teams within an agile software development organization

Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills, and the ability to present ideas, thoughts, arguments, and information clearly

Proficient in creating and maintaining best practice documentation across multiple systems and functional areas

IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC), Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS), or other certification is desired

Experience user testing applications and websites for accessibility

Consult to and/or lead effort to integrate accessibility to agile projects

Ability to review and determine defects at the code level and propose accessible code, in order to help guide developers in the business as they create products and services for our customers

Understand technical characteristics of and assist with architectural integration of external components, systems, and platforms

Strong automation expertise

Our Principal System Engineering employees earn between $141,300 - $237,400. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
