Help shape the future of inclusion at the Department of Communities and Justice! As the Senior Accessibility Officer, you’ll be working with a team of digital specialists to inspire human-centric and accessible experiences on DCJ websites and intranet.



What you’ll do



The Senior Digital Accessibility Officer will be responsible for driving a culture of accessibility and online inclusion at the Department. Through user experience design, they’ll creatively develop solutions that remove barriers for the citizens of NSW. They’ll work to provide day to day guidance for staff looking to improve the accessibility of their communications, and technical expertise on creating and testing accessible information.



They role will work closely with accessibility guidelines, and spotlight the voice of edge users to ensure that product teams make digital content and services that can be used by everyone. They’ll drive inclusive initiatives through policy and system change, and champion DCJ’s strategic objectives to become a global leader in accessibility.



The position sits within the Accessibility and UX team, part of the Digital Experience Unit. The culture is supportive, friendly and passionate about universal design and digital inclusion.



What we’re looking for



Relevant experience working with digital accessibility
Detailed knowledge of relevant accessibility guidelines, assistive technologies, testing techniques and theoretical skills
Experience working as part of a large complex organisation, ideally with Government experience
