Intermediate Front-End Developer - Automated Checker Application

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Front End Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing and user-friendly web applications. You will work closely with designers and back-end developers to implement responsive designs and ensure seamless integration with various APIs. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in web development technologies and is eager to contribute to innovative projects.

Duties

Develop the front end for the Automated Eligibility Checker Application and Administrative interfaces using BC Government technologies
Develop a responsive, scalable, and accessible user interface for eligibility input and results, aligned with WCAG standards and the BC Gov Design System.
Implement user interaction flows including form validation, error handling, consent capture, and profile data display.
Integrate securely with the Eligibility Checker API, ensuring clear presentation of results and messages.
Integrate secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
Use modern front-end frameworks and design patterns.
Collaborate with UX designers to translate wireframes and prototypes into functional, user-friendly interfaces.
Conduct unit and integration testing of UI components and perform accessibility audits to ensure compliance.
Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for front-end builds, including support for automated testing, vulnerability scanning, versioning, and rollback.
Ensure seamless deployment and monitoring of front-end applications in a cloud-native environment.
Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure operational visibility, performance tracking, and audit readiness.
Provide ongoing knowledge transfer and technical documentation
Skills

Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Front-End Developer.
Minimum 5 years’ experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Vue.js, Svelte, or Angular.
Experience handling diverse character encodings (e.g., UTF-8, UTF-16, ISO-8859-1) across APIs, UI components, and data layers.
Experience configuring and integrating modern single sign-on (SSO) technologies (e.g., OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML) for front-end applications.
Experience working with RESTful APIs
Experience with industry standard development and delivery guide and standards, including containerized environments and CI/CD pipeline tools.
Experience developing and deploying front-end applications in containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience working in an agile development environment with other disciplines to iteratively create or improve digital products and services from conception to production.
Experience presenting solutions and strategies to industry, open-source community or Ministry domain experts and project partners.
Experience contributing to open-source projects and associated distribution platforms (i.e. GitHub).
Experience with software quality checks, regression testing, performance/scalability testing and code reviews.

Pay: $85,033.91-$110,038.43 per year
