Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Evaluates and facilitates development of instructional materials in appropriate format to ensure accessibility for the blind or physically challenged employees or other individuals within the Central Nonprofit Agencies (CNAs) or NonProfit Agencies (NPAs).
Manages dynamic projects with competing resources and priorities using multitasking skills.
Efficiently test with a wide range of assistive technology (i.e ZoomText, JAWS, screen readers), etc.
Determines appropriate tools, information, resources, and training needed to resolve technical or other accessibility barriers.
Provide guidance and support to Staff and Directorates for facilitation of accessibility-related administrative duties.
Identify and resolve accessibility barriers to provide appropriate and accessible materials for websites.
Evaluate the accessibility of instructional technology devices and software and make recommendations to provide instructional content in the most accessible formats.
Contribute informative how-to-articles to Commission managers and Supervisors to educate staff about available tools, information, and resources to resolve technical accessibility barriers.
Follows all related accessibility standards and laws, including Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the ADA.
Develops reports to monitor and assess the Commission's accessibility efforts.
Attend annual conferences related to accessibility initiatives to stay abreast of current accessibility best practices.
Participate with professional web accessibility forums or groups to address accessibility needs.
Manages ambiguous test requests and creates effective accessibility test cases ad plans based on available data.
Creates compliant document templates for application guides and other major documents.
Remediate non-compliant Word, PowerPoint, and other high-value documents.
Uses strong verbal and written communication skills; along with high attention to detail and communicates complex topics concisely.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS GS-8:

Must possess at least one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent) in a position that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of the position. This experience includes:

Apply established practices and procedures to provide the appropriate guidance and support to staff and employees;

Maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers;

Provide training or make presentations pertaining to accessibility-related administrative duties;

Determine appropriate tools, information, resources, and training needed to resolve technical or other accessibility barriers; and

Utilize appropriate technology to test equipment, materials, and other instructional materials effectively and efficiently.
