Minimum qualifications:

2 years of experience in accessibility testing
Experience with assistive technology software and hardware
Experience with accessibility checking tools (e.g. Accessibility Scanner, Lighthouse)


Preferred qualifications:

Experience with automated accessibility checking tools
Knowledge of applicable accessibility standards such as WCAG and ARIA
Expertise in using assistive technology such as screen readers, magnification software, switch control devices, etc
A thorough understanding of different technology needs of different groups of users with disabilities
Thorough understanding of manual QA testing processes and methodologies
Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to clearly and concisely illustrate accessibility issues and areas for improvement

About the job

As an Accessibility Analyst, you will ensure that Google’s products and services are tested for compliance with applicable accessibility standards and legislation as well as creating highly efficient, delightful and productive experiences for everyone including users with disabilities. You will be the expert in manual testing with assistive technology software and hardware and advise on accessible design and usability with the product teams. You'll have impact by being the voice of users with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Perform accessibility testing, evaluation and analysis on products within Search (including Search, Assistant, News and others) against existing accessibility standards such as WCAG. Perform accessibility testing, evaluation and analysis with a wide range of assistive technology tools such as screen readers, magnification features, switch control devices, etc on multiple platforms including desktop, mobile, and smart displays
Understand and leverage accessibility testing tools to improve quality of accessibility testing when appropriate
Handle ambiguous test requests and environments and create effective accessibility test cases and plans based on available data such as PRDs, Design Docs, functional test plans, etc
Train/up skill software engineering, UX, and other engineering groups on accessibility testing
Conduct non-traditional testing such as walk-throughs, bug fixes, evaluations, etc. Be the voice of a user with disability in their product group and beyond
