Accessibility Tester

Essential Skills:
Strong communication in English, specially written to describe the issues properly.

WCAG, NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack Required Skills:
Should have a minimum of 1 year of accessibility testing experience and experience in testing web applications.
Thorough understanding of W3C standards-compliant HTML and CSS.
Must be able to define web accessibility test scenarios and test conditions and develop detailed web accessibility test plans.
An Acquaintance of accessibility-related standards and guidelines.
Must have experience in Functionality, Compatibility, Usability, Regression, Sanity, Smoke and System Testing
An Acquaintance of ADA/508/WCAG2.0 & WCAG2.1 compliance.
Experience in working with Accessibility tools for major browsers - Firefox, IE, Chrome, Safari for desktop, Mac & touch devices.
Possess good experience in using tools like JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, ZoomText, Talkback.
Must be familiar with accessibility implementation techniques like right use of ARIA attributes, logical order & correct HTML5 semantics, Data Table structure.
Experience with document accessibility like PDF, Word, Powerpoint. Experience with Accessibility Checker for PDF & PPT.
Ability to write remediation, any training & certification would be a plus.
Should have experience in Defect Management Tools and in using shortcuts and keystrokes for assistive technologies. Responsibilities:
Conduct in-depth WCAG compliance assessments via manual reviews and using automated test tools and assistive technologies.
Compile reports concerning failures in Section 508/WCAG compliance and ways to remediate.
Review Section 508/WCAG compliance defects with developers and discuss possible resolutions.
Monitor resolution of Section 508/WCAG compliance violations.
Provide expert advice to other teams testing web pages and applications for Section 508/WCAG compliance.
Assist project teams with understanding how Section 508 and accessibility activities fit within the project life cycle.
Stay up-to-date on the latest Section 508/WCAG testing and automated tool information. Additional Skills:
Working exposure with AXE, WAT, Chromevox, Androvox, WAVE, AChecker.
