The ideal candidate should be passionate about accessibility and ready to mentor others on methods and techniques for addressing barriers. Work involves testing, remediating digital content and occasionally designing and developing training content.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

Perform accessibility tests using evaluation tools, manual testing, and assistive technologies
Remediation of content – WBTs, PDFs, SharePoint sites, etc.
Accessibility consulting for learning solutions and strategies to design teams and the broader org
Participates in the development and delivery of materials, and job aids to increase team knowledge in the area of accessibility
Provides coaching and mentoring to team members and internal customers to enhance accessibility competencies
Partner closely with our internal Accessibility Resource Center and Diversity Equity &Inclusion strategy team to maintain alignment of accessibility goals
Maintains and grows subject matter expertise in the accessibility field
Delivers testing results to internal customers and participate in follow-up discussions to improve the accessibility and usability of digital content
Serve as backup to the manager and other team members to help with the development of learning assets as needed
Perform other duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with instructional design and/or educational theory.
Fundamental understanding accessible web design
Understanding of UI and the principals involved in inclusive and universal design.
Proven ability to explain complex problems and solution in simple, clear, and accurate language.
Understanding of accessibility policies and standards, such as the WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 and how they apply to PDFs, Microsoft Office documents, SharePoint, websites, desktop applications, mobile apps, and other digital content.
Experience with testing and remediating digital content for accessibility.
Experience using accessibility-testing tools and assistive technology such as WAVE, screen readers, and screen magnifiers.
Fundamental understanding of document creation tools — e.g., Adobe Acrobat Professional, Microsoft Office — and how they impact accessibility.
Knowledge of assistive technologies, and a basic understanding of accessibility problems facing users with disabilities.
