We’re looking for an experienced and profoundly engaged Senior Content Designer, based in Chicago, IL, to join our multidisciplinary Accessibility team. You’ll be responsible for reimagining employee experiences for 26m users and their families and delivering content for all Alight products. The Senior Content Designer will apply a strong content POV, deep understanding of user experience and set the bar for quality and innovation at Alight. For individual projects, they will work with Product Designers, Product Managers and Engineers to integrate business requirements into content strategies, interaction, and copy solutions. A balanced understanding of strategy, usability, interaction and visual design is a must. As a member of The Product Design Accessibility Team, you will partner closely with Accessibility Leadership to deliver accessible, inclusive design and customer-focused outcomes. The team will ensure delivery of Alight's Accessibility standards within Consumer Product and establish new policies within the team. They will operate as the subject matter experts on Product Design Accessibility and offer consultant services to the broader organization. This team will partner with product teams across Alight to highlight the importance of accessibility while continuing innovation specific to automation and testing within Product Design

Key Responsibilities

The individual will be involved in the following critical activities:
Collaborating with Accessibility Leadership and a world-class team of Product Designers, UX Design - Researchers & Product Managers
Develop end-to-end content strategy for more complex problems
Define our accessibility content strategy to conform with WCAG 2.1 (AA Level) content standards
Develop processes, define standards and suggest tools to keep the accessibility team at the forefront of innovation
Mentor other content designers and be responsible for content quality of all accessibility documentation and standards
Be an active member of the Accessibility and design system team, sharing knowledge and best practices
Promote content design in the company and showcase usability and accessibility related success stories
Demonstrate ability to evaluate and design for the interactions between language and design elements to construct a logical, compelling narrative throughout user/client journey
Simplify complex health, wealth, career and wellbeing scenarios into useful information for users
Define and apply consistent voice and tone throughout content journey
Define content goals and journeys based on user or customer goals
Ability to collaborate and run Content Design workshops and Sprints
Experience in multitasking and working in ambiguous situations
Help support a shared design vision across the company by building consensus on priorities leading to product design and execution
Grow a culture of design and ship with speed, consistency, and quality; rebuilding our culture
Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; MS a plus
Expertise in Figma, Sketch, Miro/Mural, and/or Invision
Significant experience with accessibility standards, accessibility features, and inclusive design practices
5+ years of experience in Content Design or Copywriting roles at Design or Digital Agencies, Startups or Fortune 500 companies
3+ years of experience working collaboratively with engineering/dev, design and user research teams
