Position description
This role will work across all Experience Design and Center for Digital Health to ensure that all team members are working in concert to execute on our accessibility strategy.
This role will establish and actively guide an enterprise digital accessibility strategy for Mayo Clinic.
Support strategic implementation of digital accessibility to deliver value for shields and sites
Develop, maintain, and support digital accessibility standards across all delivery mechanisms to align with department and organizational technology and experience standards
Serve as a digital accessibility Subject Matter Expert, providing education and consultation to partners in XD, CDH and wider Mayo Clinic enterprise for all things related to digital accessibility
Design and develop digital accessibility tools and processes
Support and foster accessibility as a thought process and required consideration across Mayo Clinic, ensuring our digital accessibility strategy continues to evolve
Ensure effectiveness of digital accessibility, by supporting consistency in approach and quality of work produced within and across portfolios
This role will support and contribute to a team of engaged and forward-thinking XD practitioners.
Ensure overall accessibility skillset of team continues to evolve
Understand the use of new and emerging digital accessibility trends, emerging technologies, and software development techniques while balancing best practices with new ideas and concepts
Foster an internal culture of positive teamwork and transparency that drives excellent service, quality, diversity of thought, an engaging work environment and overall continuous improvement mindset
This role will build, collaborate with and nurture trusted relationships.
Build strong, collaborative relationships with the CDH Experience Design team, CDH leadership team members, project leaders, and/or internal and external clients
Ensure consistent messaging surrounding digital accessibility with stakeholders across the Mayo Clinic Enterprise

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or a degree in an unrelated field combined with additional suitable experience
10+ years leadership experience demonstrating skills as a strategic leader, conceptual thinker and effective communicator who can clearly and concisely articulate ideas and perspectives in a diplomatic and persuasive manner
Additional qualifications
Clear demonstration of passion for and expertise in digital accessibility, including a clear understanding of the relationship of UX design, XD research, product management and engineering with accessibility
Deep knowledge and experience with relevant international standards and regulations (e.g., WCAG 2.0, Section 508, etc.)
Strong experience validating websites for WCAG 2.1 level A/AA compliance, and Mobile Applications for WCAG Mobile Best Practices
Ability to collaborate and negotiate productively and tactfully
Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
Working style that demonstrates respect, initiative, ownership, transparency, accountability, and a desire to working as part of a collaborative team
Comfort in a fast-paced, iterative/agile design process
Genuine passion for helping people who need our help the most
Healthcare experience a plus

Compensation Detail
Required education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The salary range every 2 weeks is approx. $6,149.60 -$8,916.80 based on a full-time position.
