We are currently seeking an Accessibility Manager to join our on-site wellness team. This position can be located in Jersey City, NJ or downtown Manhattan, New York City.
Job Overview:

The Accessibility Manager will be instrumental in advocating for accessibility within the workforce and working to ensure adherence to accessibility standards.

The primary responsibility is to act as technical accessibility SME (subject matter expert) liaison to cross-functional client teams (Wellness, Engineering, Corporate Services, Human Capital, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and the Business) and to be responsible in providing counseling and guidance related to accommodation and accessibility (including but not limited to physical, hearing, visual, speech, cognitive, neuro-diverse) strategies.

This role will also require interaction with the client’s Medical Leave of Absence (Occupational Health) team for medical cases that may require accommodations to the work environment. These may be short term medical conditions, chronic disease, or long-term disabilities such as physical and cognitive impairments.

Additionally, responsibilities include but are not limited to developing and delivering training programs; participating in focused projects; analysis and reporting, serving on Wellness committees; and communicating at all levels within the organization both verbally and in writing.
What you will do:

Work to foster a culture of accessibility by creating awareness of how technology products and services can impact or be impacted by users with varying levels of ability and learning styles through training workshops, end-user support, and audit activities.
Perform workstation and work task evaluations to identify and correct ergonomic and disability issues associated with those workstations and tasks. Uses widely accepted ergonomic metrics to quantify and document issues and control efficacies.
Recommend effective control strategies to abate concerns and is cognizant of related budget constraints.
Detect gaps and maintain core software and hardware assistive technologies ensuring full functionality in environment. Support accessibility testing and analyze applications and designs for accessibility issues and work with Engineering to achieve resolution.
Identify appropriate return to work options and/or barriers; partner with internal resources to ensure smooth transitions to employment activities.
Document case notes in compliance with established standard operating procedures or regulation.

What we are looking for:

Bachelors or higher education or relevant experience with state, private, or other academic settings / organizations / programs providing accessibility services
5+ years experience in analysis, design, development and/or testing of current WCAG success criteria (preferably WCAG 2.1 AA)
Expert knowledge of current accessibility laws and standards
Working knowledge of support resources (technological and other supports for note-taking, studying, text-to speech, document conversion, etc.)
Experience using accessibility testing tools (Windows and Microsoft 365 accessibility features, Fusion, JAWS, Supernova, NVDA, Dragon, Read&Write, MindManager, captioning apps, specialty headsets, keyboards, mice, etc.)
Knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and iOS/Android development best practices
Proven experience driving accessibility in digital, customer-facing programs
Ability to conduct and deliver training on ADA topics
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, MS365, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of interpersonal skills and time management to work effectively with others and ability to interface with all levels of the organization, specific strength in setting and managing expectations
Strong problem-solving skills, organizational/attention to detail, and customer service focus
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, research and find answers to questions independently
Experience in managing multi-faceted projects and program
Professional certification preferred (CPACC, WAS, ADS, CPWA, Trusted Tester). Ability to achieve Ergonomics certification within one month of hire required.
Limited travel may be required
