Systems Accessibility Analyst 2

Under the direction of the Associate Director of Web Services, and with a keen and balanced sensitivity to meeting human needs and mitigating risk to the university, the Accessibility Analyst conducts comprehensive accessibility evaluations for web site and software applications under consideration for purchase and deployment, ensuring compliance with the university’s Digital Accessibility Policy; and assists in testing sites, applications, surveys, and third- party products and services to ensure they are accessible to people with a broad range of disabilities. As an advocate for and accessibility expert, consult with vendors and department staff to help them determine how to make their products and services accessible; may participate in Request for Proposal (RFP) committees for third-party products and services; and contribute to the development and delivery of training in accessibility to departmental staff who create content, maintain websites, or develop applications. Maintained reports on evaluations conducted, retesting efforts, and requested exceptions. Serve as the resident expert for the College of Food, Agriculture and Environmental Science (CFAES) on technical questions about digital accessibility. Stay abreast of evolving best practices and standards in IT accessibility, proactively sharing this knowledge with the Web Services team, the ADA Coordinator’s Office, and our department’s, web developers, and other professionals responsible for digital content.

Additional Information:

Required Education and Experience:

Required bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, 2 years’ experience in website or application design or development; able to successfully work with a variety of individuals with varying degrees of knowledge, skill sets, and expertise.

Desired Qualifications 2-4 years’ experience in evaluating the accessibility of software, creating accommodation and remediation plans, assisting design and development teams in remediating accessibility issues desired; deep understanding of tools to aid in accessibility evaluation; experience working in the area of disability services; experience testing for and remediation of accessibility barriers in Web, Mobile, and Native applications; understanding of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS; experience using assistive technologies; understanding and passion for Accessibility issues; experience in regulatory compliance; significant knowledge of current and emerging accessible development practices and assistive technologies; fluency with disability law and regulation in the higher education context.

The salary range for this position will is $67,700.00-$90,300.00/annual. The offer for this position will be based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the selected candidate's qualifications.
