Amazon Halo is a new health and wellness membership that focuses on improvement through discovery. We use the power of machine learning and computer vision to put the most innovative and effective tools for improving personal health in our customer’s hands. Our current portfolio of products includes two wearable wellness trackers, Halo Band and Halo View, and the Halo app, which uses the data the wearable devices gather to provide a broad range of digital tools and content along with personalized insights and science-backed guidance to help customers meet their health goals. We are looking for an experienced, empathetic, UX design leader, who is energized to be part of building a new category for Amazon, and lead a team of UX Designers within our growing UX Design & Research team. This role can be based out of our Seattle, Bellevue, Sunnyvale, or LA offices.

In this role, a UX Design Manager will lead the team responsible for the Amazon Halo app’s UX design. You will synthesize customer needs and business opportunities through research and customer obsession to define our customer experience and influence and deliver on the Amazon Halo roadmap. Your team will deliver bar-raising UX designs that align with Halo’s brand and design tenets. As an expert in design and research best practices, you will leverage a deep understanding of customer needs, technical acumen, and strategic long-term business thinking to drive vision, execution of next generation initiatives, as well as deliver across ongoing improvements to our interfaces.

You set and balances goals across your team, delegating appropriately to optimize performance against business goals and employee development. You think and act both strategically and tactically: from the creation of strategic plans to the execution details. Key job responsibilities:

Build and lead a highly effective UX design team
Drive key programs for the UX design team’s Design System and a11y initiatives
Work in close collaboration with product, engineering, marketing, and business development partners to drive business and launch program decision-making
Help craft the UX vision and strategy for Amazon Halo in close collaboration with Halo’s Sr Manager, UX Design and Research
Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization
Enjoy working and leading in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
Cross-platform digital interface experience – mobile, web, voice, wearables, natural user interfaces
Experience building computer vision and machine learning-based products
Design experience in a global context
Passion and high bar for stunning visual design
Committed to learning and teaching professional and technical knowledge
Master’s degree in Design, HCI, or related field or equivalent professional experience
A passion for health and wellness
