The Senior Accessibility QA will be responsible for carrying out tests similar to an accessibility audit against international guidelines for a key public sector organisation, identifying areas of improvements and provide recommendations as required.

This role will involve working collaboratively with clients and the Service Delivery Manager in establishing the test approach, executing the tests accordingly and develop suitable reports for the client

Key Responsibilities:

Provide inputs towards the accessibility test approach identified, contribute towards establishing the scope and techniques
Execute tests in alignment with the international standards for accessibility (WCAG) guidelines, which are expected to be a combination of manual and automated tests
Use assistive technologies as part of manual testing to ensure effective coverage of end user experience
Carry out reviews on accessibility statements and any non-GUI components of a web page
Provide a report with prioritised list of observations, where possible providing recommended best practices
Liaise with client / business users as required to refine the test approach
Support any defect management undertaken as a follow up measure

Key Skills:

Web testing experience with good exposure to various tools and techniques for accessibility testing, with at least one year of demonstrable experience
Experience of performing accessibility audits against international guidelines (WCAG) and good understanding of relevant best practices
Experience in using assistive technology such as screen readers, magnification software, MS Insight etc. for carrying out accessibility tests
Good understanding of concepts like accessibility statement and preferably experience in reviewing them
Experience of analysis and production of accessibility audit reports in a concise and accurate manner, with recommendations where possible
Experience of working closely with user research teams on accessibility requirements (desirable)
Knowledge / awareness of automation tools used for accessibility testing (desirable)
Knowledge of GDS standards and testing to meet those standards (preferred)
Experience of working in the Public sector/ Govt. projects (preferred) or a in a similar multi-supplier environment
