Principal Process Manager, Digital Accessibility

The Digital Accessibility Team’s mission is to establish digital accessibility as a fundamental part of the way we do business by empowering others to prioritize and deliver inclusive experiences (and have fun while doing it). We are looking for critical thinkers who are ready to aggressively challenge conventional approaches to software design, development, delivery, and maintenance. Responsibilities:

Partner with product development teams to identify, document, and resolve accessibility-related issues from product inception through to launch

Negotiate with business, product, design, tech, and risk stakeholders to set expectations and facilitate conversations on both sides

Build a reputation as trusted advisor and partner

Be a champion of change and question the status quo

Have a passion for human centered design with a natural empathy for consumers with disabilities

Communicate effectively at all levels

Additional Responsibilities may include:

Educating and training teams on accessibility requirements and the use of tailored tools that are used to bake accessibility in early in the lifecycle vs. back-end testing requiring prioritization and remediation

Performing manual and automated testing of all applicable digital properties against accessibility requirements

Leveraging prior experience to constantly evaluate and recommend improvements to the accessibility processes and the suite of tools and training materials

You will play a major role in our ongoing enterprise program delivery as well as pre-release integration, production monitoring, and self-service imperatives. Excellent organization and prioritization skills will be needed to successfully lead and advance our efforts across the company. The ideal candidate will also have superior tech acumen in design and development practices, so that you can step in and hit the ground running. Exceptional judgment and demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders to drive change from the top down is imperative to your success.


Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 4 years of project or business office management experience
At least 4 years of experience with program management or agile delivery
At least 4 years of experience with technology concepts and methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in UI development, including web and mobile
Experience with delivering accessible products and services through the agile lifecycle
Understanding of CICD development concepts and source control tools and practices
At least 1 year experience with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0 AA) and assistive technology devices (e.g. JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver & TalkBack screen readers)
Experience reviewing design output (wireframes, visual design comps, content) and writing accessibility specifications for User Experience and Front-End Development teams
Experience testing, designing, or developing applications (web, mobile)
Basic foundation in a compliance, regulatory, audit, legal or risk team
Ability to adapt to the changing circumstances of a fast-paced technology company
Experience in a start-up environment or technical company
