You’ll drive cross-product UI consistency, design reusable components and patterns, and collaborate with engineering to ensure high-quality implementation. Candidates should have shipped design system components in live product environments and worked closely with product and engineering teams to scale and maintain systems in production.

Design System Contribution & Expansion

Extend and refine our existing design system to support current and future product needs.
Define, design, and document reusable UI components and patterns.
Identify gaps and inconsistencies across products and recommend system-level solutions.

Component Library Management

Maintain and scale a shared Figma library with robust component variants, tokens, and usage rules.
Ensure alignment with the front-end codebase (e.g., Storybook), working directly with engineering to sync design and implementation.
Ensure components meet accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA or higher).

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate with product owners and engineers during planning, prioritization, and implementation of design system work.
Serve as a design systems advocate to drive adoption and maintain consistency across design and development teams.

Autonomy & Ownership

Lead the end-to-end design and rollout of new components and patterns, from concept through engineering handoff and QA.
Own governance practices and change management processes for system updates.

Required Skills & Abilities:

Proficiency in design tools (Figma preferred), with experience building component libraries using auto-layout, variants, tokens, and constraints.
Experience with design system frameworks (Storybook preferred).
Strong understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, design tokens, and component-based frameworks like React).
Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
Strong visual and interaction design sensibilities.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
3–5+ years of product design experience, with at least 1–2 years focused on design systems.
Experience working in cross-functional product teams using agile or lean methodologies.
Hands-on experience in EdTech or a related industry.
Proven experience working on customer-facing products in close collaboration with engineering teams.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
