This Principal Technical Product Manager for Accessibility contributes to Starbucks success by championing accessibility best practices and compliance and driving the Starbucks Digital Accessibility Guidelines to enhance and extend the ways all our customers and partners, including those with diverse abilities, interact with our digital products.

To be successful, the Principal Technical Product Manager for Accessibility needs to be skilled in leading enterprise-wide efforts, have outstanding accessibility, communication and interpersonal skills and deep functional and technical knowledge of accessibility features and implementation best practices in order to educate product, design and engineering teams in their development.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Lead the enterprise digital accessibility compliance efforts
Participate in company-wide inclusive design efforts, representing how digital accessibility aids inclusion for Starbucks customers and partners
Coordinate accessibility and inclusive training of Starbucks Technology partners
Educate Starbucks Technology partners on accessibility best practices and evangelize accessibility across organizations, creating accessibility champions
Maintain and execute a schedule for continuous auditing of existing Digital Products to ensure the Starbucks Digital Accessibility guides are met, working with and managing vendor services as needed
Act as lead technology consultant around accessibility implementation for Starbucks Technology teams building applications, websites, retail technology and enterprise software on a variety of platforms
Manage a roadmap for accessibility initiatives to ensure Starbucks Digital Products are leaders in WCAG 2.x compliance

Basic Qualifications

Four-year college degree in Business Administration or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
Proven experience working with and partnering with communities with disabilities
Experience delivering accessibility compliance programs at enterprise scale
Deep technical knowledge of digital accessibility for web, mobile and desktop platforms
Deep understanding of WCAG 2.x and related global standards and regulations in the US and Worldwide
Competence in modern engineering practices such as agile, test automation, CI/CD
Experience in Inclusive Design practices
10+ years’ experience in digital product and/or program management
