The Accessibility Manager will report to SIE’s Senior Director of ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance).

Under Sony’s global leadership, an essential part of SIE’s ESG activities is to ensure all our products, services, and business operations are fully accessible by 2025. SIE is in the process of rolling out its long-term business plan to achieve this ambition. The role of the Accessibility Manager will be to ensure progress through effective coordination across our various business functions and provide the necessary expertise. The scope includes our research and analysis, gaming platforms, games, and business operations. Based in our San Mateo headquarters, the Accessibility Manager will be ideally positioned to work with experts across our business groups, coordinating SIE’s Accessibility Working Group and reporting progress directly to SIE’s senior management.

Responsibilities and Duties

Analyze new accessibility and accessible gaming trends and developments, including proposed legislation, codes of practice, and standards, and report and share findings with key accessibility experts and management.
Engage with SIE’s key external partners to understand their concerns regarding

accessibility, and help shape SIE’s global response.

Engage in, support, and use the latest research on accessibility.
Organize SIE’s Accessibility business planning process, ensure regular progress checks and reporting to senior management, and determine plans, budget, and resources needed.
Coordinate SIE’s Accessibility Working Group and ensure effective collaboration and information sharing between SIE’s accessibility experts and management.
Ensure SIE’s Accessibility Business Plan implementation by coordinating projects and programmes across SIE business groups to achieve SIE’s accessibility commitments.
Support SIE’s external communications and updates on SIE’s progress on accessibility.



Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Game Design, UX, Product Management or another relevant field of study;
Five years of previous experience in the video game industry in Game Design, UX or Product management OR 5 years of prior experience in an Accessibility role in the software, web or video game industry;
Consistent record of raising awareness and developing accessibility solutions in previous roles;
Nice-to-have: CPACC Certification, Section 508 & WCAG Certification, APXP AbleGamers Certification
Excellent oral and written communication in English (French classes offered);
Highly organized and able to keep an eye on the big picture while dealing with details;
Ability to work on multiple projects and deliver on time;
Knowledge of WCAG guidelines, CVAA requirements, Game Accessibility Guidelines and other accessibility guidelines and standards;
Insight and expertise in the Disability rights movement;
Experience with MS Office Applications and Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
Experience with JIRA and similar tools;
Experience using internal communication tools such as MS Teams, Slack, Sharepoint, and/or other solutions
