Senior Accessibility Specialist

In this role responsibilities include, although not limited to:

Defines standardized accessibility recommendations for Intel products, services, and experiences grounded in industry best practices and accessibility standards. Identifies accessibility gaps in existing product designs, establishes and reviews design and accessibility standards.

Coaches' teams to consistently create more accessible user experiences, defines and tracks metrics for accessibility improvements, and collaborates with teams on accessibility strategies and roadmaps.

Defines and designs new accessible technology concepts for people with disabilities, audits concepts, designs, design systems, and existing products for accessibility issues.

Consults on research plans and conducts quantitative and qualitative research with people with disabilities.

Stays UpToDate on accessibility standards such as Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) , accessibility strategies, best in class accessible interactions and technologies, and accessibility best practices.

In addition to the qualifications listed below, the ideal candidate will also have:

Strong knowledge of ARIA.

Ability to identify accessibility issues in software and web applications.

Excellent communication, problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on finding creative solutions to challenging technical problems.

Ability to Influence skills with leaders and executives.

Ability dealing with changes in priorities and direction in fast-paced environment.

Ability to create simple coded wireframes/prototypes.

Ability to mentor/coach user experience professionals to enhance the accessibility of their designs.

Ability to create presentations to demonstrate concepts/designs and influence decision-makers.

Ability to negotiate with product teams including scrum masters, product owners, developers and analysts.


Qualifications


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.


Minimum Qualifications

The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer engineering or computer science and 6+ years of experience -OR- a master’s degree in electrical/computer engineering or computer science and 4+ years of experience -OR- a PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 2+ years of experience in:

5+ years of experience in software and web accessibility

This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

Thorough knowledge of WCAG current guidelines.

Experience coaching, mentoring and pushing agile product teams to improve accessibility.

Experience influencing/working with external suppliers to improve their SW.

Experience working in a large, corporate setting.

Experience applying WCAG guidelines to SW.

Test automation knowledge.

Software project management experience.

Software and guidelines documentation experience.


Inside this Business Group

Intel's Information Technology Group (IT) designs, deploys and supports the information technology architecture and hardware/software applications for Intel. This includes the LAN, WAN, telephony, data centers, client PCs, backup and restore, and enterprise applications. IT is also responsible for e-Commerce development, data hosting and delivery of Web content and services.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado, New York, Washington, California: $139,480.00-$209,760.00

Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience


Working Model

This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.

Salary Range: $139000 - $209000
