Technology Risk Management – Digital Accessibility (Vice President)

Technology Risk Management’s (TRM) mission is to help ensure senior management has defined technology controls that protect our clients, our firm and support the achievement of firm-wide business goals. The Digital Accessibility team partners with content creators, designers, developers and publishers to deliver high-value digital products and services that are accessible to all end users.

The ideal candidate for this position will be dynamic, organized, results-driven project manager with experience in technology and accessibility. The role requires strong presentation and communication skills due to the nature of working with multiple BlackRock teams and stakeholders. Additionally, the candidate should have strong project management and problem solving skills and the ability to foster positive working relationships.

Responsibilities

Coordinate digital accessibility efforts across multiple content creation and development teams
Communicate accessibility and technology requirements clearly to diverse groups of stakeholders ranging from senior managers, to marketers, to content creators to developers
Present and explain recommendations for remediation
Help to prioritize accessibility goals and milestones across different teams and technologies
Identify, track, and help to resolve any issues impeding accessibility efforts
Organize accessibility training programs
Partner with BlackRock technology teams to incorporate accessibility testing into the Software Development Lifecyle (SDLC)
Foster a culture of accessibility
Manage relationships with specialist third-party consultants

Requirements

8+ years of experience working in a Technology, Digital Marketing, or a related field
Knowledge of WCAG 2.0 guidelines and WAI-ARIA standards
Experience implementing accessible products using HTML, JavaScript and CSS
Experience conducting usability testing for people with disabilities for conformance with the full range of WCAG 2.0 Level A/AA Success Criteria
Proven ability to manage issues through to resolution
Strong project management, analytical and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across a wide geographic region
Relevant certifications such as IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPAAC) and Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) are a plus
