Are you legally blind or partially sighted and passionate about making the internet more accessible?
Allyada is launching an exciting new project focused on evaluating website accessibility across the United States, and we want your voice to be part of it.
This freelance opportunity is specifically for individuals who are blind or partially sighted and reside in the United States.
We believe that the lived experiences of blind and low-vision users are essential to creating a more inclusive digital world.
Who We Are Looking For
• Individuals who can provide proof of legal blindness (for example a medical document or certification from a Commission for the Blind)
• Access to a laptop is required or you are welcome to join us in person at our office in Queens, New York.
What the Project Involves?
• Reviewing 50 websites to assess their accessibility
• Sessions will be held remotely via Zoom, taking 5 to 7 hours in total (broken down into 60 to 90 minute segments depending on your pace and comfort with computers)
• You will receive $500 upon completing the full set of audits
• If interested we can also connect you with a legal expert should you wish to take action against websites that do not meet accessibility standards
