Responsibilities

As a Sr. Specialist, 508 Accessibility Remediation, your work functions will include but are not limited to:
-Serves as an advocate for accessibility (Accessibility is the practice of making information, activities, and/or environments sensible, meaningful, and usable for as many people as possible.) and a resource for team members who need to develop accessible documents or remediate existing documents.
-You will provide Section 508 compliant document solutions support.
-Identify and create solutions for non-compliances with Section 508 (Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended applies to all federal agencies when they develop, procure, maintain, or use electronic and information technology. Under Section 508, agencies must give disabled employees and members of the public access to information comparable to the access available to others.) of the Rehabilitation Act by performing analyses, inspections, and testing of documents
-Review and create opportunities using system assistive technology, PDFs, Word documents, and Excel spreadsheets for barriers to usability and accessibility.
-Assist with the creation of internal and external document templates.
-You will need to assist team members on identifying and resolving common problem accessibility issues of submitted documents.
-Work with team members to convey requirements, options, and limitations as well as to brainstorm creative solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

-Associates Degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited institution instead of applicable skills training. SourceAmerica recognizes 1.5 years of experience = 1 year of college, should the candidate not meet the educational requirement.
-2 years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

-Bachelors Degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited institution.
-High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, and Excel, as well as Adobe Acrobat DC.
-Experience with document remediation and section 508 best practices.
-Knowledge of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1 AA) and how it is applied to documents.
-Experience using JAWS and/or other 508 accessibility software.
-Strong grammar, spelling, and writing skills, combined with interpersonal and teamwork skills.
-Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work efficiently and effectively.
-Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment.
-Able to work on multiple projects at one given time and complete on time.
-Attention to detail.
-We use Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) as our primary business application system for much of our office processes— experience with D365 or using similar methods is preferred.

Salary Range: $55352 - $82080
