Senior Design Manager

Typeform

Remote,SPAIN

This job is expired.

Hi! Before diving into the job details, let's give you some context on who we are and what to expect when joining the team.

Typeform, launched in 2012 in Barcelona, drives more than 500 million digital interactions per year and integrates with hundreds of other business-critical tools. We’re expanding from a small Barcelona-based business to a truly international and remote company. We’re hiring talent across Spain, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Colombia, France, Ireland, the Netherlands and Portugal. Be aware, the location is to be subjected to change, depending on the role.

Our vision is a world of more personal business relationships. Through our no-code Saas platform, we believe we can create that world by living our mission: To bring people closer with better conversations. We turn digital interactions into human connections, by offering people-friendly forms, quizzes, surveys, and asynchronous video solutions.

To do so, we look for people who are curious, ready to own their objectives, and passionate about taking organisations to their next chapter. But we are aware it’s not for everyone, our environment is perfect for those willing to become a change agent and roll up their sleeves to build our rocket ship.
About the Team

The Product Design team at Typeform is responsible for managing and leading the design process for the company's CRX (Creator & Respondent Experience) and Enterprise & Partners groups, which includes navigation experience, integrations, and the company's design system.

The team is also responsible for promoting best practices and collaboration across all teams, developing a strong understanding of the domains in which their direct reports work, and building a culture that delivers exceptional results no matter where the designers are located.
About the Role

You are highly enthusiastic about product design and can promote best practices, ensuring that it is well-represented across all teams and creating opportunities for collaboration in the real world. Additionally, you will develop a strong understanding of the domains your direct reports work in.

You will work with your direct reports to build out a Product Design Strategy for two main groups: CRX (Creator & Respondent Experience) + Enterprise & Partners, including but not limited to: navigation experience, creator and respondent experiences, integrations, enterprise & partners, and our design system.

You will collaborate with our Leadership team to manage OKRs for the product design practice, aligned with the UX strategy. These OKRs will shape your team’s process, define your responsibilities as a manager, and feed into the responsibilities of your direct reports while enabling our company to meet its goals.

You will champion the importance of participation in collaboration across all departments, including content creation, brand, engineering, and product.

You will take ownership of building the foundation for our design culture, empowering designers to build a culture that delivers exceptional results no matter where they work.

You will approach management in a way that fits with our values and culture: Start from empathy, Make a difference, Bring joy to the journey, Own it and Win together. Your management style will need to work in the context of an all-remote, global team and will have demonstrable experience. You will create a safe space where your team can give feedback, suggest improvements, and feel comfortable advocating for change.

You will play a big part in hiring a team of world-class Product Designers. Not only that, but you will also need to be highly engaged in the recruiting process as we scale our team globally. Likewise, you will create, shape, and strive for the very best experience for all our candidates (regardless of outcome).

You will build partnerships and collaborate with product, engineering, and other key functions in your area. You can support your team in identifying dependencies and product opportunities across your relevant areas and wider across the organization.

Things you will do:

You have demonstrable experience managing, leading, and developing Product/UX design teams of 3 or more people at all levels (Jnr – Principal).

You have an appreciation of how Service Design and its component parts relate to Product Design and can instill frameworks for your teams to follow.
You have worked on SaaS platforms, complex applications, or enterprise software.

You have experience working with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and can lead a team to create accessible experiences.

You are passionate about user research and usability testing and look for ways to improve your team's abilities in these areas. You understand the needs of being pragmatic in a fast-moving organization.

You want to manage a team that is designing a complex product for cross-functional users with evolving needs.

You are comfortable managing our design team to work efficiently, measuring the impact of our work, and raising the bar of our design standards. You are comfortable leading design reviews and occasionally getting hands-on with design tools such as Figma.

You find it rewarding to mentor, lead, and help your team grow.

Our values of Start from empathy, Make a difference, Bring joy to the journey, Own it, and Win together - along with our Design Principles that you can find at https://typeform.design/ - resonate with you
