Schneider Digital is the digital department of Schneider Electric, leading the digital transformation in the company by giving support globally to our internal teams and our clients. Schneider Digital consists of 6 Digital Hubs worldwide which are strategically located to ensure a 24/7 support across the company (France, China, India, USA, Mexico and Spain). Our Digital Hub in Barcelona is formed by +450 employees working in strategic projects and different roles such as Data, Cybersecurity, ERP, Cloud, Infrastructures, IT Project Management or Digital Marketing. The Web Accessibility Specialist ensures that Schneider Electric’s websites and digital products deliver an inclusive, barrier-free experience for all users, including people with disabilities. This role leads accessibility audits, drives adoption of WCAG standards, advises cross-functional teams, and promotes a culture of inclusive design across the organization. The specialist collaborates closely with designers, developers, product managers, and content creators to ensure accessibility is embedded throughout the entire digital lifecycle. What will you do: Accessibility Strategy & Governance - Develop, maintain, and promote accessibility strategies, standards, and implementation guidelines across digital teams. - Integrate accessibility requirements into design, development, testing, and release processes. - Establish governance models, checkpoints, and documentation to ensure consistent compliance with accessibility expectations. Audits, Testing & Quality Assurance - Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits of websites and digital products to identify barriers, WCAG violations, and usability issues. - Perform manual testing using assistive technologies such as screen readers. - Use automated auditing tools and manual techniques to validate accessibility fixes and verify compliance with WCAG 2.1/2.2 standards. - Deliver clear, actionable remediation recommendations to design, engineering, and product teams. Training, Enablement & Cross-Functional Collaboration - Provide training and coaching to designers, developers, and content creators on accessibility best practices. - Guide teams through accessible design and development techniques. - Partner with project managers and product owners to ensure accessibility is prioritized and planned within delivery schedules. Compliance, Standards & Documentation - Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1/2.2, ADA, Section 508, and EU Web Accessibility Directive requirements. - Maintain and update accessibility documentation, standards, and internal guidelines. - Produce regular reports on accessibility performance, compliance levels, and progress on remediation activities. User Engagement & Continuous Improvement - Gather and analyze feedback from users with disabilities to inform accessibility improvements. - Advocate for user-centered thinking and the integration of accessibility considerations early in the design process. - Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities for broader adoption of inclusive design. What will make you successful: - Strong knowledge of web accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1/2.2 and related global regulations (ADA, Section 508, EU Directive). - Experience conducting accessibility audits using both automated tools and manual assistive technologies. - Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and how they affect accessibility. - Understanding of usability principles and user-centered design. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills. - Strong written and spoken English. - Accessibility certifications such as CPACC or WAS are a plus. - Promote accessibility awareness and champion inclusive design practices across the organization. - Help foster a culture where accessible, high-quality user experiences are a shared responsibility across all teams.
