Job Description

Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine is seeking a versatile front-end web developer and designer to join our award-winning web and communications team. In this role, you will create and maintain visually compelling, accessible websites and other digital products that advance the school’s mission and support our faculty, staff and students. Responsibilities include developing clean, efficient, and maintainable source code using semantic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; working within the university’s content management system (TerminalFour); ensuring compliance with accessibility standards; developing and testing email content using ListServ Maestro; maintaining design systems and component libraries; conducting front-end testing and debugging; assisting with maintenance of over 20 School of Medicine web properties; and staying current with emerging front-end technologies. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 2+ years of experience in front-end web development, proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Adobe Creative Suite, and familiarity with web accessibility standards. Salary range is $55,000-$65,000 with full-time benefits and a hybrid work arrangement.
