Job Description

The University Information Technology Services (UITS) department of the University of Massachusetts is seeking a Digital Experience Intern who wants to become part of a dynamic team of technology professionals supporting the institution's mission to provide affordable and accessible education and conduct programs of research and public service. The Digital Experience team at the UMass President’s Office is seeking a current UMass student to work as a digital accessibility intern to support overall digital accessibility efforts. Responsibilities include running weekly digital accessibility reports for public websites, completing digital accessibility and assistive technology training, assisting with manual testing of third-party products using assistive technologies, providing guidance on remediating inaccessible content, and helping remediate public-facing content as needed. This internship is fully remote with sessions via Zoom. Minimum qualifications: current UMass student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, GPA of 3.0 or higher, basic knowledge of HTML/CSS, knowledge of WCAG 2.1 A and AA requirements, and ability to maintain confidentiality. Preferred qualifications: experience with GitHub and Drupal. Applications must include resume, cover letter, and three references. Internship is conditioned on background review consent.
